Cortex DMIX-300 is this good to learn how to beatmatch?
Author: emailofbert :: Posted: Wed Feb 03, 2010 8:31 pm
I just discovered the Cortex DMIX-300 digital music controller. I'm thinking about getting one. I am new to DJing and mostly just want to become proficient at the basics (beat matching, cross-fading, seamless transitions, etc). would this piece of equipment be suitable for my desire to learn the basics??

Numark iDJ2 is this good to learn how to beatmatch?
Author: emailofbert :: Posted: Wed Feb 03, 2010 3:17 pm
I am brand new to DJing and would like to learn. I like the idea of mixing house beats or mixing the generic pop/Rap that seems oh so popular to dance to today. But I don't wanna spend ridiculous amounts of moneys on equipment. I just want to learn and become proficient at the basics (beat matching, seamless transitions between songs, etc) but nothing really special. I discovered Numark's iDJ and read some reviews and stuff and found out it sucks. But then i found the iDJ2, the new version. I have read reviews and stuff and it seems pretty good to me, but I am by no means educated on the matter. Does anybody know anything about the iDJ2 and whether or not it would be a decent purchase for what i want to do??

Native Instruments AUDIO 2 DJ Interface (Soundcard)
Author: DJ Andre :: Posted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 11:32 pm
This is an awesome dual stereo output soundcard. The only very tiny issue I have it requires 1/4 inch plugs and not the usual 1/8 inch plugs--so I had to swap different cables I am used carrying (it does come with common audio cables--except mine are made by me by using professional grade cables and connectors), but not a problem. But other than that, it is awesome.

The sound is incredibly great. Louder output than a CD player. You can directly connect a pair of Headphones to it, and since it has two independent volume wheels, you can tweak it to your preferred loudness--I'll still be connecting to the main mixer, since I prefer the headphones to monitor more than one device. The Sound has a very rich and crip sound. Your sound will definitely improve with it. I highly recommend for you to upgrade. You will only need this soundcard for both your mains and headphones outputs.

I was extremely happy to learn that it will support DirectSound from MixMeister Pro 5--since that is my preferred "reliable" audio mode. It does also support ASIO--for those that prefer that setting.

And you'll be happy to learn that it's not expensive. Only $100 bucks. That's it. click here to view it at Amazon.com

Let me know if you have any questions.

Setup Example 1 - DJing with the software mixer:

If you're working with a laptop only, then Output A could be used to route the master signal to the PA, whilst Output B allows you to monitor the next track you're cueing up in your headphones. This is a typical setup for digital-only DJs who use a MIDI controller with TRAKTOR.

Setup Example 2 - DJing with an external mixer:

When using AUDIO 2 DJ with a mixer the stereo outputs are routed to separate channels on the external mixer using the included adapter cables. Output A connects to Channel 1, Output B to Channel 2. The mixer will now work in exactly the same way as if two turntables or CDJs were connected.

Need website help.
Author: djjackson :: Posted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 5:56 pm
I am hoping someone can help me get started. I'd like a website. I'd like to use it as a avenue to announce my upcoming events. I tried using myspace, but I was not able to figure it out. And I got my site closed, because some wacko spammer took my profile and etc. I have also tried facebook, but don't like it that much. Hopefully you guys can point me to the right place.

I was gonna post this in this topic [viewtopic.php?t=275] --sorry I can't post links yet, but I didn't want it to seem I was hijacking the topic with my own set of questions. And I also read this topic: [viewtopic.php?t=78]
