| wow....a night to remember |

So did a club gig last night had a great set ready to go thought i'd bring the house down with the mashups and so forth, and it turned into somewhat of a disaster in my eyes, even though i got some great reviews. The dance floor wasn't what i expected, and i must have thrown everything at them, mixing anything from disco to country and just wasn't getting the feel. House gigs and nothing but from now on....anyone else ever have an experience like this that totally ruins your confidence???

On June 18, 2009 DJAM contacts Richard Vission to give him an exclusive MOB interview:
- What is your name? Where are you from? And where are you currently residing? Richard Vission, Los Angeles, CA
- How long have you've been in music? Do you produce your own tracks? If no, who? I put out my first record in 1993. I produce or co-produce all my tracks, every project is different. I'm usually working on 7-10 different things in 3 or 4 studio's besides my own at the same time.
- Who or what was your biggest influence to get you into music? Radiohead, Daft Punk, U2 and a lot of the early electro like Soul Sonic Force, Cybertron and Inner City
- Who have been your biggest supporters? My mom, she's the only one that counts.
- What is your latest album or single? I have single out now called "Rio" (Feels It) that I did with Felli Fel that's out on http://www.beatport.com now. Another single coming out in July called "I Like That". It's Static Revenger and myself starring Luciana (From Body Rox fame). We shot a really cool video for it as well. Both of these tunes are on my label, SOLMATIC. I also recently remixed U2 "Magnificent, David May "Superstar" and Pussycat Dolls "Bottle Pop"
- What was your aim for this single or album? To make music that excites me.
- Was this your first project? If no, how many other projects have you done? Have you also collaborated with other Artists? If no, would you like to? If yes, with whom? I've been lucky and have been able to Remix, collaborate, or produce such artists as U2, Weezer, Lady Gaga, Nelly Furtado, Vassy, The Killers, Felix The Housecat, etc.
- How much work and sacrifice was put into completing this project? A lot of work...I work 6 days a weeks 10-14 hours a day
[image]
- Which are the tracks you had fun with in this production? Tell us why? I have fun with every track I do.
- Which are the tracks that really mean something to you in a personal level? They all are personal to me.
- Which are the tracks that you are simply experimenting with or trying something new? I'm always trying something new, that's what keeps things interesting. I'm always trying something new...got to keep it exciting
- Are your tracks getting aired on the mix shows, radio, or other? If yes, by whom? If no, would you like for MOB DJs to pick your single up for their next mixshow project? On POWER TOOLS (KPWR 106FM Los Angeles, CA)
POWER TOOLS airs on Power 106 FM since 1992 with hosts Richard Vission & Swedish Egil, POWER TOOLS is heard every Saturday night - Sunday morning from 2 a.m. - 4 a.m.

Message Board: http://www.richardvission.com/loudbaby_forum3/

- Who is your favorite current recording artist or band at the moment? Why? I like the Yeah Yeahs and I really dig this new artist I'm working with named Vassy. You can check her out at http:www.myspace.com/vassymusic
- In your own words, what is your music all about? My music is about many things...escaping for a moment in time...capturing an emotion...a message to make you think...but most of the time it's to move your body and make you scream.
- If you could change how the music industry does things, what would you change? I would make it so record labels and radio would catch up to what people are actually listening to and take more chances with breaking new music. It's finally starting to head in that direction, but it's got a long way to go.
- How difficult or easy has it been for you to make the right connections to get your music aired? Not too difficult.
- Tell us a current day in your life as an Artist? What tasks do you do to get closer to your goals? wake up at 6:45am
answer emails
gym
answer more emails
breakfast
phone calls
go over the day with my assistant
lunch
studio 1 - 8
dinner
back to the studio till 11
Watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report
- What do you see yourself doing in the next 5 years? I will probably be doing more writing-producing and developing artists.
- Tell us a little more about yourself, what are your interests? Likes and dislikes? I like spending time with my niece and watching her learn to walk and talk, protein bars, Pink Berry, Westin Hotels beds, iPhone and brunch.
I don't like stuffing, eggplant, people who take up 2 parking spaces, speeding and headbands.

I was planning to buy a pc controller for my laptop to be used either for live gigs or production. I chossing between Numark Mixmeister controler and Behringer BCD3000. Can i have your opinion regarding the above unit- which one is the best.
One more thing about this units, is it possible that i can use Mixmeister fusion with BCD3000 or vice versa (VDJ to Numark MixMeister).
Thanks...more power...
